GIOP End-of-Summer Networking

Happy Hour Event

 Date:  September 21, 2017

Location:  The Moonrise Hotel
(6177 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112)

Time:  5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Our end-of-summer networking happy hour is typically the highest attended GIOP event of the year and it is fast approaching! This year we’ll be gathering at the Moonrise Hotel on September 21 from 5:30 - 7:30 to review literature and renew relationships. If you haven’t registered already, we’re making it even more compelling as we’re recasting the event to honor one of our Past Presidents, Dr. Therese Macan.

Therese has been a stalwart of GIOP since its inception holding several different position on the Executive Team in addition to her Professor duties at UMSL. But her UMSL days are coming to a close as she taken early retirement to focus on her consulting practice, Therese Macan Group. Many students and GIOP members have benefited from her classroom instruction and facilitation skills; her ability to encourage students through a thesis, comprehensive exams, and dissertations is renowned. Our I-O community wants to honor her and return this encouragement as she makes the transition into full-time consulting.

Therese’s network extends outside of the GIOP community so we hope to see some new faces at this event. Spread the word and invite your colleagues! As an additional incentive, we are waiving the non-member fee for the event, but your membership still entitles you to a free drink coupon. Non-members will be responsible for their own drinks.

Register now to help us plan for food and entertainment. And you might want to spend some time reflecting on Therese and her contributions to UMSL. Our Executive Team is looking forward to an exciting evening and truly want to YOU to be a part of honoring our friend and colleague Therese Macan.

Sincerely,

Your GIOP Executive Team with Laura Heft and Shawn Hughes

Parking: Though parking near the Loop is generally free, a City of St. Louis Public Parking lot is located directly behind the hotel. These spaces are free, but are subject to availability.
