Program Description: Scott will share his thoughts and engage in an informal, interactive discussion with us about topics such as the field of I-O psychology, the evolution of SIOP, being a scientist/practitioner, and what drives success as an I-O.
Speaker bio:
Scott I. Tannenbaum is President of the Group for Organizational Effectiveness (gOE), a consulting and research firm he co-founded in 1987. Under his leadership, gOE has provided research, advice, tools, and workshops at over 600 organizations globally, including more than 75 Fortune and Global 1000 companies.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tannenbaum has served as a consultant and advisor, supporting his clients’ organizational development, change management, team effectiveness, and employee/leadership development efforts. A few of the well-known organizations he has supported include: Microsoft, UnitedHealth Group, J&J, BP, Cedars-Sinai, GE, Crayola, Whirlpool, McGraw-Hill, Montefiore, Frito-Lay, Travelers, UBS, BlueCross/Blue Shield, Credit Suisse, Medtronic, Tiffany & Co., Carnival, Cleveland Clinic, Roche, MD Anderson, Honeywell, T-Mobile, American Express, Bloomberg, Chevron, the U.S. Navy, Army and Air Force, the Royal Air Force, The Hartford, Citicorp, MetLife, United Airlines, Merck, NY Life, and NASA.
Dr. Tannenbaum has published over 100 articles, chapters, and books. His latest book, Teams That Work, is published by Oxford University Press. His research has been cited over 29,000 times (h = 53), and he has received six awards for research and teaching. He was named a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS). He was elected President of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists (SIOP), which named him a Fellow and honored him with the Distinguished Professional Contributions Award for lifetime achievements.
Formerly an award-winning tenured professor in the business school at the University at Albany in New York, he holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Old Dominion University.
